Jeanne Green Sherman,

Accompanist

After a 25-year career at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory, Jeanne Green Sherman took early retirement to pursue a lifelong goal of completing a music degree.  She enrolled in Idaho State University’s piano program, graduating in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music, piano emphasis.

In her youth, while studying with the head of the piano department at the University of Utah, Jeanne won the Utah State Fair Piano Competition as well as several National Federation of Music Clubs competitions.  She has soloed with the Idaho State Civic Symphony, the Idaho Falls Symphony, and the Utah Youth Symphony. For several years she served as orchestral pianist in both the Pocatello and Idaho Falls organizations.

In May 2004 Jeanne was one of seventy-five pianists invited to compete in the Van Cliburn Fourth International Piano Competition for Outstanding Amateurs in Fort Worth, Texas, where her performance earned excellent reviews.  She also participated twice in the Rocky Mountain Amateur Piano Competition, where she advanced to the semi-finals.

Jeanne has been the accompanist for Anam Cara, under the direction of Dr. Kevin Brower, since 2012.
